Dekalb C.E.O. Michael Thurmond  gave his State Of the county address today. Seemed like the usual political norm about promises and plans for everyone.

He made empty promises about getting first responders a raise, we all know the board of commissioners hate fire and police and will never pay them.

It was embarrassing to see all the ass kissing and sucking up with the commissioners and brass from the fire and police department.

I wish someone would address the pay compression problem. The commissioners voted and accepted the proposal to fix the problem but the veteran officers with 16 years and more experience were left out of the decompression problem. The command staff received a pay parody raise and the officers with 5 to 15 years experience were all taken care of. The veterans were left out seems like good grounds for a lawsuit to me. How do you expect to keep good people if you stop taking care of them after 15 years.

Get a few years experience, gain an expertise in CID, etc. Then take your talents into the private sector where they and you are aptly compensated and appreciated. Most of you have likely evolved past the ass clowns running the circus there.

The county is at a pivotal point. It has to decide if it will double down on stupid like Atlanta, L.A., Chicago, etc. and become a criminal coddling sanctuary continuing to allow recidivous criminals to prey on its citizens unchallenged or start taking law enforcement seriously and hold activist judges and politicians accountable.

Why would anyone trust an administration that can’t even get water billing correct for years?
