Rumor is the new Police Chief is down to two candidates, Rodney Bryant  who is an assistant Chief with Atlanta Police. The other is Kerry Thomas who is the current Chief at Chamblee.
Both have ties with Director Lumpkin and the CEO.

Nothing ever changes in politics especially in Dekalb County, they are just looking out for their friends and do not care about the department or the citizens. To the media and the citizens they just put on a good act. You should see how they act behind the scenes.

What happened to a nationwide search for a new police chief. Ooooohhhhhh yeah it's the good old boy system in play AGAIN.

Advice for young officers- As you've seen on here and probably at work by now, the climate at DKPD is rife with corruption and underhandedness. At any time there if you cross the wrong person intentionally or unintentionally you are at risk for being prosecuted for current or even prior work events. As you've see on here, those who feel threatened have no issue revisiting your prior use of force incidents, etc. in an effort to discredit or even jail you. Sadly you must understand the risk of working in such a dishonest and discredited environment. Officers have had to justifiably use deadly force and all the trauma that comes with that only to be criticized for it later by a disgruntled co-worker because the shot wasn't green-lit. You probably owe yourself and family more than to have to make such a pact with the least of humanity (much less LE) in order to merely survive doing your job.

What else would you expect from a pack of dishonest democrats?

Dekalb has a shameful history of illegal malicious prosecution.

Anonymous said...

Can you give us one example of malicious prosecution, since you claim it's so rampant?

Anonymous said...

Yes, to all those above. Quit talking in anecdotes. Give examples. There are no valid examples. If you cite one, then pleases do an open records on the investigation to substantiate your claim and upload it - otherwise you are probably just a disgruntled employee who never got anywhere because of your disgruntled attitude. Didn’t you go to the training put on by the department. You’re the guy/gal who is over in the corner spewing your hatred out on all the young folks in the department. Go work somewhere else.

Not sure of prosecution but have seen many employees unnecessarily targeted while others do whatever the hell they want. Knowing about it and doing nothing amounts to culpability.

What will Yarbrough do if he not Chief or Deputy Chief after Conroy retires? It’s about time for retirement for him. We can only hope , he like a Brian Harris junior.

Well it's been well over a week now for anonymous to state just 1 case of Malicious Prosecution and all we've heard has been the sound of crickets. Once again here is someone who is ready to tear down rather than build up this department....Please go away and stay away if you're that unhappy....we don't want you nor do we need you...

It's a government job unfortunately the bad ones never leave

Well Dan tell us why and how this department is a great place to work and retire if your a new officer. It must be the salary and years and age for retirement. I’m thinking all the new leadership we have had since 2005. We have County CEO,s really running the police department.

Today Lumpy sent out an email directing everyone to figure out a way to stop all the murders.

The out-of-control murder rate is not a LE issue, it's a community problem. If you want to curb it start a sterilization program.

Yeah we catch almost all of the murderers. Higher clearance rate than the national average. Maybe if the commissioners hired conservative judges these perps would get real prison time instead of probation and low bonds. Midnight basketball doesn't work

I retired in 1995. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't take a walk, I would run from DKPD.At least you younger dudes are paid overtime. A Mexican officer in El Paso, TX. sued all the way to Supreme Court and DKPD was forced to pay O/T, but took 6 months to comply, trying to figure out how to get around it. Manuel MaLoof, the great Democrat in sheeps clothing said this, "Why we can't pay Police and Fire O/T. There's just too damn many of them. It would break the county".
As far as corruption, it has always been there. Check out the real story on the murder (assassination) of Officer David Corn. None of Director Dick Hand's "smartest persons in the room" have solved that one yet. I need to write a book!

Rumor- a currently circulating story or report of uncertain or doubtful truth. To be circulated as an unverified account. There are many comments on this page that are based on an unverified truth. At least one of those names listed is NOT in the running for that position.
