Chief Conroy is officially retired now.
Who will be Dekalb County’s  new Police Chief?
Will it be a real Chief who can makes changes,  or just a puppet for the C.E.O. And the Director of Public safety.

You can not be serious with these stupid questions, have you forgotten what county you are talking about. Whoever the new Chief is does not matter. They will be a puppet and the CEO will be pulling the strings. I am sure it will be someone who is friends with the Director or the CEO. I pray it’s not Yarbrough or Caitlin God help us all f it’s Yarbrough, his ego is already out of control. He has lost touch with what policing is and is traded his morales and self dignity in for chapstick to keep his lips moist on the directors ass. Caitlin is just another yes man and is not qualified to be Chief. He should not be an assistant chief right now he skipped some ranks by doing Alexander’s dirty work.

Let Yarbrough be the Chief, he’ll let him be the whole department, just ask him he will tell you all he can do and no one has ever accomplished more than him. He is the greatest of all time he will tell you this any chance he gets.

Does not matter who we get they will only be here to get a check.

This department is too top heavy, it really needs to be streamlined.

Who cares. Just do your job within your rank. Chiefs spot doesn't effect us

That is the problem , we do our job within our rank and our assignments, the Chief is suppose to be our voice and to help better the department. But the last 4 chiefs have only been here to get a check. The officers in this department gives a 100 percent but we are treated like crap. We need a chief who will get us what we deserve. Better pay and better benefits.

To anonymous who said who cares, I bet you are part of the command staff that is a comment they would make.

That comment is a perfect example of how our command staff does not care about the officers, the command staff is out of touch with reality and what is going on in the department. They only care about stats and numbers and who can go to com stat and say they are doing the best job.

Why all the secrecy over who is being considered? The rumor mill is going crazy again because everything has to be all secret. The decision shouldn't be made solely by some 80 year old guy who's barely been here.

So let me get this straight, Chief Yarbrough has his 30 years and can retire with assistant Chiefs pay but he continues to stay here and make everyone around him miserable with his micro management style. He refuses to give up that power and leave.

You know Lumpkin will pick one of his friends to be Chief, not a real qualified person. Dekalb County is in big trouble.

What I wanna know is since one of our k9 Officers got fired a few weeks ago for coming to work drunk what happens to his dog? Does Yarborough get it? Is at the pound? The questions continue....

A four your degree is required for Chief so some named here are not qualified.

Well let’s see, you’re either blind, deaf, dumb or too ignorant to be in that profession if you work there and don't see all the corruption around you. So yes, best guess would be a go-along to get-along puppet.

Case & point, commissioner Sutton was just arrested by FBI. But I guess Dekalb was too blind to see that corruption as well🙄.

Where’s her smug dismissive attitude now with no administration to protect her? Karma has come full circle as it always does.

I remember when feds arrested out LT. there. Charming place to work.

And the corruption dominoes begin to fall. Lots of closet Trump supporters there. More to come.

Why is your county DA charging officers there with felonies for doing what they are trained to do with non-compliant arrests?
