Good riddance! Dave Simpson should pursue and get paid for what he's been doing for years...PR for Vernon and his hacks.
Throw some Majors and Deputy Chiefs in with him and we'd have a lot to cheer about.
Can they please buy out Ty Tagami!!?
First we get rid of Vernon Jones, then Terrell Bolton, and now David Simpson. This county is becoming downright respectable again!

There might be some ray of hope from the AJC's local bureaus being closed.
Wouldn't it be swell if some of the reporters that have been muzzled by the AJC's editors over the years started a subscription
newsletter covering all the local
corruption that their former boss told them to bury?
I'm bad with names, but remember the reporters that were banished from Dekalb coverage after they made things inconvenient for VJ and the money crowd a few years back?
Make it worth their while to do some true investigations, then
let them sing like canaries.
I might not agree with the Champions politics, but there coverage of DeKalb has put the AJC to shame. From what I have seen, the AJC's coverage of DeKalb is nearly nonexitant, consider just one event, that begged for coverage and investigation by the media and the DA. In 2004 the county attorney committed suicide and Vern is unavailable for a day or so for comment. Multiple questions energe, why did the county attorney committ suicide? Why did not Vern inform the county of his whereabouts, Why was Vern at the Athens Olympics, who paid for the trip, and under what circumstances, and documentation of what county business Vern did while in Athens. A Grand Jury was in order and Gwen failed DeKalb again.....
Newspapers are dying off anyway. Who really reads them anymore. I get my news from the internet.AJC is a liberal rag anyway.
