This blog page was established so DeKalb County Police Officers including their family and friends may have a place to hold discussions, post news and vent without fear of retribution.
Skeptical, If you are waiting on all of Bolton’s appointees to be removed, you can stop holding your breath. It appears that some of them were appointed for life. Some of them may get demoted but some of them will hold on to their position I bet. They are just that good at ass kissing, or they are somebody’s friend. I hope I am wrong but we will see in a few weeks.
At first I thought was holding this department hostage, but now I see it's the county that is allowing Bolton to hold us hostage. I understand that Bolton is merit protected but we can not allow that to keep this department from moving forward. I agree that morale is on the raise but the longer we let bolton situation dictate how this department is run then we will fall back into this slippery slope of unhappy troops. CEO I may not agree with all your decisions but I respect them nonetheless. Don't allow this man to continue to hold this department down, if we do he continues to when. We have to move on you fired him let's start running the police department like he is gone instead of on some extend vacation.
I really hope Director Miller puts in a place a better system of transferring people to specialized position. A system that is fair and based on job merit. Just last week the Tucker ICP Sgt's spot came open. The Captain brought in a sgt from another precinct (one of his boys)to fill the position, without even asking any of the sgts already assigned to Tucker if they wanted the position. The incoming sgt may even be the best qualified for the position,I have no idea, but you have to at least ask your current sgts and let them apply for it. Now I have to listen to my pissed off sgts, and rightfully so, complain about it! The sgts' morale has a direct impact on officers' morale. Right is right, and wrong is wrong! The more things change the more they stay the same!
If you think people getting transfered based on who they know is going to stop, I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Its not just this department. It is how the world works. That is not going to stop. Quit fooling yourself.

Ahh...nice fluff story with little if any meat. Must have been a slow news cycle.
I'm still waiting to see the "made" men and women of Vernon Jones and Tebo removed from their positions of power and perks.
