Tragedy Touches Our Department

Police officers are not immune to tragedy. On August 7, 2009 Sgt. E. Adkiinson's 17 year old daughter was killed in a single car traffic accident in Perry Georgia.

Yesterday, August 16, Sgt. D.A. Thomas' long time female companion and mother of their children was murdered in the driveway of their home.

Please remember these officers and their family in prayer during these most difficult times.

A young officer at North also lost his 11yr old son to a long fight to cystic Fibrosis.. God bless all three of these Officers.. This is seriously a time for reflection and a clue for us to come together and put aside petty beefs. My heart as a father breaks for all of them...

May god be with both families and just know that as a fellow co-worker we all have you in our thoughts and prayers.

There is a simple fact that is often forgotten by our command staff and the public. Police Officers are HUMAN BEINGS. There is the stress of dealing with the tragedies and problems of the public. Then we have our own issues in life just like everybody else. These are horrible tragedies and I will be praying for both of these sergeants.

Prayers go out to both families. We are always hurt to hear the passing of a loved one. Lets keep them in our thoughts and prayers. They are now in a better place away from the evil of the world that we live in.

I know both Sgt's very well and my heart cries for them. To the officer at North I don't know you but it really dosent matter because you are a BROTHER IN BLUE. May god go with you all and heal your hearts as soon as possible. Can we have one day without bickering on the blog in the interest of these officers. Thank you.
