District Attorney Brings In Special Investigator

D.A. Gwen Fleming has added to her staff, Clay Nix, formerly of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations. Investigator Nix’s primary responsibility is to investigate public corruption.

His lead off case is the one involving Officers Wright and Route, the two officers accused of running a criminal background check on President Obama.

If we were allowed to ask one question of Ms. Fleming it would be: Are you serious?

These two officers did a bone headed thing by running a background check of Obama. They probably did it being curious, just to see if his drivers license would read 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, his birth date, or whatever. But it is highly doubtful they did so with any criminal intent.

These two officers have been on paid administrative leave for nearly two months now. It’s time to move forward and end the administrative investigation with heavy suspension from duty without pay. But to have them investigated by the D.A.’s office; isn’t that a little much?

Where was the special investigator when one of Vernon’s cronies was caught running tag information for political reasons? Where was this special investigator when another one of Vernon’s cronies was caught running tags during an adulteress marriage gone bad? Or the detective using N.C.I.C./G.C.I.C. information so she could send threatening letters through the U.S. mail during another extramarital affair?

And finally, where is this special investigator when it comes to terminated Chief Terrell Bolton? The District Attorney herself said Bolton’s actions were probably criminal, but would not pursue it.

Gwen Fleming is proving once again; if you are “connected” you don’t have much to worry about. But if you are some lowly beat officer who does a good job day in and day out, but is caught doing school boy pranks, then Gwen Fleming will bring in a special investigator and nail your ass to the wall.

Tragedy Touches Our Department

Police officers are not immune to tragedy. On August 7, 2009 Sgt. E. Adkiinson's 17 year old daughter was killed in a single car traffic accident in Perry Georgia.

Yesterday, August 16, Sgt. D.A. Thomas' long time female companion and mother of their children was murdered in the driveway of their home.

Please remember these officers and their family in prayer during these most difficult times.

OMG! And This Guy Is On Obama's Short List for U.S. Fire Administrator for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Department of Homeland Security

Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin James Cochran must have taken lessons from recently terminated DeKalb Police Chief Terrell Bolton on take home car management. Imagine if he should win the nomination.

Now, close your eyes and imagine further that somehow he manages to bring Terrell Bolton on board as U.S. Police Administrator for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Department of Homeland Security.......WAKE UP! It's just a nightmare!

Injured Cops Video Mayor Shirley Franklin Propably Dosen't Want You To Watch

May 26, 2009 at 2:48 pm by Andisheh Nouraee Creative Loafing

The video shows five men and women severely wounded while on duty as Atlanta police officers. Each claims the city is denying them medical benefits they need, and to which they are entitled.

Why do I assume Mayor Franklin doesn’t want you to watch it?

Simple.

Because she’s spent the last week dodging questions about the video’s subject matter.

During the same week, however, Franklin has somehow found the time to launch an administrative, legal and public relations assault against APD union leader Sgt. Scott Kreher, the man who presented the video the city council.

Admittedly, Kreher made himself an easy target.

While speaking to city council last week about Atlanta’s alleged poor treatment of police officers severely wounded while on duty, Kreher said he’s so frustrated with Mayor Franklin’s intransigence that he feels like hitting her on the head with a baseball bat.

It was an ugly figure of speech for which Kreher apologized. But Franklin won’t move on.

She has evidently decided to use Kreher’s slip-up to once-and-for-all silence Kreher; one of her most persistent and (until last week) effective critics.

First, Franklin told Fox 5 she interprets Kreher’s statement as a literal physical threat meant to intimidate her and her family, even though it clearly an ugly metaphor for extreme frustration. Franklin says she wants a local, state and, FEDERAL investigation into Kreher’s comment.

Strange. When Atlanta residents express their fear of actual crimes, the mayor mocks them with cherry-picked stats. Hurt Franklin’s feelings, however, and she’ll summon federal help.

But wait. There’s more.

On Saturday, Franklin’s APD toady Chief Richard Pennington suspended Kreher from active-duty pending a psychological examination. Using a mental health bureaucracy and the stigma of mental illness to destroy a political opponent is a time-honored political tactic — in Russia.

Why is Franklin bending over backward to destroy Kreher? My guess is that she’s desperately hoping you won’t pay attention to his message.

So watch the video.

And if you still feel like blaming someone for drawing attention away from the important issue of benefits for wounded cops, go ahead and blame Kreher or Franklin if you’d like.

But remember, Kreher distracted us by accident. Franklin is doing it on purpose.

Watch Where You Eat Boys and Girls

Everyone is so busy answering 911 calls, who has time to eat, much less eat with one (1) or more peers even.

Oh; that's right, how silly of us. Must be some of Gerry's kids: ICP

District 1 NET Team is up and running

Once again Tebo has taken more officers away from the streets answering 911 calls to staff yet another specialized unit. The drainage (no, not the liquid coming from Tebo’s ears) of uniform continues.

Let’s see, 5 ICP units, 5 precinct NET teams, and now a District 1 & 2 NET team. With all these specialized units, why is crime through the roof?

Is the odor of take home cars for the newly formed district NET Teams in the air? Stay tuned.

The Madness Continues

City of Dunwoody to temporarily contract police services

The city of Dunwoody in now in negotiations with both the DeKalb County police department and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department for police services until Dunwoody can establish their own department, probably until March or April 2009.

To date, the police department has offered our services for $500,000.00 (that’s one half million dollars) per month. The sheriff’s department has submitted a proposal.

From past experiences, the city of Dunwoody would be out of their mind to pay for the (lack of) services from the police department. After Dunwoody’s chose to become a city, Vernon has become revengeful and spiteful, filing lawsuits trying to stop the city. Some of his decisions and taxpayer money spending was done behind closed doors to Roy Barnes. Illegal? We don’t know. Unethical? Everything about Vernon is unethical!

After the last two (2) academy graduations, Bolton refused to assign additional personnel to the north precinct. His command staff has been heard saying Dunwoody is on their own, if they want backup, they better call Doraville.

Why would the city of Dunwoody jeopardize the safety of it's citizens and the waste of it's taxpayer dollars by handing it over to Vernon and Tebo? Why would they rely on the same people for their safety who stand against them? Maybe farmer Smith needs to hire a fox to guard his hen house.

Does the madness continue?

And the lamebrain ideas keep emitting from that numbskull between TeBo’s ears

Bolton is in search of 5, count ‘em, 5 sergeants to become F.T.O. Administrative Sergeants to Lt. Kaulbach who heads up the Field Training Program, one sergeant from each precinct. Good God, how does he come up with these ideas? Did he inhale too much smoke watching his personal Magic Bus burn to the ground? Is the man insane?

Why does he want one sergeant from each precinct? North Precinct hasn’t gotten any recruits from the last 2 academies. I bet he tosses that one to someone special.

These sergeants work hours will be 07:00 – 17:00 with either FSS or SSM off; of course you can throw all holidays off into that too. How bout a take home car?

This idea is the product of one of the now defunct wasteful trips our command staff took to Houston. It appears Houston Texas P.D. has a similar program. But has anyone told Bolton that Houston P.D. has over 5,000 police officers and their last academy graduated 71 officers with at least five more academies graduating over the next 6 months? That’s over 400 officers! Hell, we don’t have 400 uniform officers working the streets including all 5 precincts.

We are short handed on Sergeants as it is now. Most shifts work with only 2 sergeants per day, with a 3rd one thrown in about 3 days a week. These sergeants are worn out at the end of the shift daily, and now Bolton wants to take 5 away.

Bolton continues to demonstrate his distaste and jealously of the uniform patrolman working the streets. This is because Bolton was never a true uniform beat officer. He cared only for his political ambition, which he was a failure in Dallas. He will never live up to any of our patrol officers or sergeants.

Tony The Tard Ask:

Can some one help me?
As I understand it, the BOC did not reach an agreement on the 25th of March about any pay raise for anybody. The matter is still to be debated.
But then you read the misleading AJC article by Ty Tagami saying all are getting up to a 4% raise (pay for performance, just like now) and $2,672 "longevity incentive" for 277 master police officers,
And today I was approached by a civilian congratulating me on our raise…… Huh?

Officer Suspended For Possible Criminal Activity

How many officers have been fired for being charged, much less convicted, with a misdemeanor crime? Teresa Shover breaks the public’s trust by using GCIC information for personal use. That is a felony! She signed the same form as everyone else.

She receives 5 weeks suspension. Let me guess. 28 days, just under 30 days so they can’t terminate her for 30 days suspension in 36 months. Or has she?

Shame on Chief Burrows! Shame on him for not wanting to “pile on” by terminating her.

Shame on Terrell Bolton!

The command staff is suffering from a mental disorder and should be institutionalized.
