My prayers are with this officer and his family.

Well, at least he or she was working on a furlough day...aka an "arbitrarily discounted rate of pay".

Now his/her only worry is the POST 90 day lite duty certification rule that mandates suspension of your certification if you are not on FULL duty for a period of time exceeding 90 days.

My prayers are with the Sgt. and his family. I pray for you quick recovery. All UNITS please stay safe out there. We are never too 10-6 to go and assist our fellow officers.

Does anyone know who the officer is and their condition???

Sargent? That's a surprise.

My prayers and kudos to a Sargent who leads in the field.

I was surprised to hear it was an Sgt that was involved and shot....most, unless there is something significant or someone calls for a 10-26.... just clear on the call and are seen just twice a shift...at roll call and at 10-42.

News reported that Sergeant Charles Broome (North Precinct) has been released from the hospital and is now at home recovering.

We are thankful Sgt. Broome that you survived and for your selfless devotion to our public safety. Keep up the good work and we pray for your speedy recovery.

Glad to hear that the officer's recovering. Isn't it about time that police start posting about the worst of the worst places in Dekalb?
Which apartment or condo complexes or hotels are the worst to get called to? Which are the most dangerous or have the highest frequency of calls? Which ones seem to have the highest numbers of arrests of persons with prior arrests?
Many of these places are facing foreclosure. Publicizing the worst might bring some pressure on the county on demolishing them, instead of continually awarding subsidies to their owners, as in the past.
