Lieutenant Austin remains in very serious, if not critical condition at Emory/John's Creek.
Best case scenario recovery time is a 20 week hospitalization.
Keep him and his family in your prayers and thoughts.

Ah South Precinct Morning Watch Roadblocks. Get better soon LT. You are one of a kind.
Man those roadblocks were always a goodtime!!!!! Get well Lt.!!!!
The best damn CID Lieutenant EVER. He needs to write a book for these current CID Lieutenants. Why would I do more with less if you are pissing on me. JW got the best from his troops.........because he cared about the troops. He gave the upper management his middle finger everyday.
I worked for JW in uniform and as a detective in CID, he was tops.
If you did not know this man or served under him you missed out. He was a true leader. He did not mind sticking his neck out once in awhile, even if it risked his own ass. He would go to bat for his troops and no one screwed with his people, it did'nt matter what rank you were. Austin will pull through he is a tough bastard. At the end of your career the best compliment you can get is someone saying, "He was a cops, cop". Some officers make a career on not making waves, JW was a tsunami and survived. You are in my families prayers.
Get well soon JW. I remember all of the good times we had. A true LEADER FOLKS, I learned a lot from him.
I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for my husband, LT. J.W. Austin. He was truly a great person, my best friend and the love of my life. My life will never be the same without him. He will be missed by many. Once again Thank you all for caring.
Diane Austin (J.W.Austin's wife)
J.W. We enjoyed all the times on the golf coarse with ya. Never a dull moment. You will be missed but never forgot.
