God bless you Norm. You were a great friend and I will always miss you and your sense of humor. Keep an eye on us from up there and watch our backs.
Rest in Peace my brother, Rest in Peace.
Rest in peace my friend.
Norman was great guy and terrific officer. He was one of my FTO's in 1982 when I was hired. Normon nevered cared about making rank and it was too bad because he would have been a great supervisor. He came from a great family.
Norman and his brothers all played football at Lakeside High School. Normon also played baseball and had a scholarship to Mercer. Norman's brothers played with retired Lt. Steve Williams when Lakeside Vikings were football state champions in 1971 and National Champions in 1973.
Nobody in the Dept. could ever say anything bad about Norman. He was great person and always displayed a terrific attitude.
It is sad that he died of ALS. I believe he is the first in his family to pass away. My prayers are with his wife, kids, siblings, and parents.

I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE TIMES YOU MADE ME SMILE IN THE HALLWAY OF EAST PCT. YOU ARE WITH GOD NOW NORM, REST IN PEACE. YOU WILL BE MISSED.....
Norman was so much fun to work with when I was at DeKalb. I first met him in '86 while riding with my FTO Rick Roseberry and we would always 59 with Normie. He always kept you in stitches laughing and I never saw him in an unpleasant mood. Another one of DeKalb's finest has left us and will be greatly missed by many. God bless you Norman and my prayers are with your family.

Norman was one of the best. He is what made this department what it was years ago. He was a true police officer in every aspect.
He is with a great bunch of guys who left us in the year of 2011.
They are some of the legends of this place.
My very first FTO. One hell of a guy.
When you say Norman Walker you say what a great and good police officer he was and this is all that matters.
Because he will be one of the leaders to lead us in our next life.
God Bless You Buddy.
Norman, I will miss you my friend. This in not goodbye, its more like see you later........
Mr Blogmaster can we build a honarary wall of all the officers that have passed since the inception of the blog. We need pics and dates they passed.
Rest in peace, my Brother
Comfort and prayers for Officer Walker, his family and his DKPD family from Porterdale PD...
When I was a new Sgt, Norman was one of my new recruits in the Central Precinct back in '85. His affability was challenged many times; however; he came out on top! I remember wishing that I had 10 officers like him for my squad. Norman, we will see you on the 'other side!!!!! God bless your family.

My condolences to his wife Robin, son William and daughters Kathryn and Erica. Take comfort knowing Normie is without pain.
Thoughts and prayers to the entire Walker family. Norman was an honorable and loving officer, friend and family man. He will be missed by everyone.
Anon 11:43 is in error, Norman only had 2 children: William, his son and Kathryn, his daughter.
I was hesitant to comment on this at all but its annoying me, especially because I am unsure whether the remark from 8-25 at 8:40pm was made out of ignorance or spite. So let me fix your "error", there was no error in 11:43, my gut says this was done out of spite, I guess thats why its bothering me so much. If this is the case, perhaps you should consider the potential consequences of your remarks before you make them. If this comment was made out of ignorance,(which I doubt, but I could be wrong) then maybe you should not make statements about other people's families of which you know nothing about. However, you were right that my dad was a great guy and will be missed.
