Sheriff's Department Jumps Ahead of Police in Technology
Not only does the sheriff's department carry Tasers, now they have video cameras in their cars. The cameras were purchased with seized drug funds.
Wait, didn't Tebo say it is illegal to use seized drug funds for items such as cameras and Tasers? Either Sheriff Brown is breaking the law, or Bolton is a liar. We're guessing Bolton is a liar.

News from the pumps
It appears Bolton has now severed all ties to all past administrations. All pre-Bolton command staff members have now been forced to resign, demoted or transfered. They have been replaced with recently promoted yes men from within the department or bring overs from the Atlanta Police Department.
The word is, the latest victims will be the commander of Major Crimes, Captain Steve Waites, and the commander of Property Crimes, Captain Allen Blaisdell. The blue order should be out Friday moving them out of their current assignments. They are the last two to fall victim to Bolton and his kingdom building.
In addition to the transfers, look for the promotion of Major Denson (Atlanta bring over) to Deputy Chief, two(2) sergeants to be promoted to lieutenant and five (5) master patrol officers to be promoted to sergeant.
The madness continues!

From the desk of Dekalb Officers:
It is great a park has been named after Officers Bryant and Barker. We pray for their children. But we wish Step would get the same type of recognition. But as long a Vernon is still here, (thank God only 2 more months) and has his arm up Tebo’s ass like the puppet he is, nothing will happen.
We all know Vernon got his immature feelings hurt when Stepnowski’s family asked no elected officials be invited to the funeral. Vernon holds a grudge, and Bolton will never recognize the sacrifice made by Step for the citizens of this county.
We posted the story of the park being renamed just as a news story and nothing more. We are all still very hurt, saddened and frustrated by Stepnowskis’ death. He meant a lot to a large number of us.
Some of the posts being monitored are showing this frustration. We honor Step and will not allow his name or death to be used in any negative way. The reasons no one has stepped up to honor Dennis are what they are.
It is the citizens who must demand recognition of Step.

District 1 NET Team is up and running
Once again Tebo has taken more officers away from the streets answering 911 calls to staff yet another specialized unit. The drainage (no, not the liquid coming from Tebo’s ears) of uniform continues.
Let’s see, 5 ICP units, 5 precinct NET teams, and now a District 1 & 2 NET team. With all these specialized units, why is crime through the roof?
Is the odor of take home cars for the newly formed district NET Teams in the air? Stay tuned.

City of Dunwoody to temporarily contract police services
The city of Dunwoody in now in negotiations with both the DeKalb County police department and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department for police services until Dunwoody can establish their own department, probably until March or April 2009.
To date, the police department has offered our services for $500,000.00 (that’s one half million dollars) per month. The sheriff’s department has submitted a proposal.
From past experiences, the city of Dunwoody would be out of their mind to pay for the (lack of) services from the police department. After Dunwoody’s chose to become a city, Vernon has become revengeful and spiteful, filing lawsuits trying to stop the city. Some of his decisions and taxpayer money spending was done behind closed doors to Roy Barnes. Illegal? We don’t know. Unethical? Everything about Vernon is unethical!
After the last two (2) academy graduations, Bolton refused to assign additional personnel to the north precinct. His command staff has been heard saying Dunwoody is on their own, if they want backup, they better call Doraville.
Why would the city of Dunwoody jeopardize the safety of it's citizens and the waste of it's taxpayer dollars by handing it over to Vernon and Tebo? Why would they rely on the same people for their safety who stand against them? Maybe farmer Smith needs to hire a fox to guard his hen house.
Does the madness continue?

Captain T.D. Williams, South Precinct transferred to School Crossing Guards
Looks like Tebo is at it again. It appears Captain Williams has pissed of Major Curtis Williams and has been banished to school crossing guards.
Captain Williams has been promoted through the ranks on his on merits. Major Williams was double promoted from lieutenant to major by Tebo as reward for being Vernon’s driver.
Maybe Captain Williams said “no” in a room full of “yes” men.

Police to pay fee for off-duty use of cars
Now this is a good idea! Make all the officers driving take home cars to part-time jobs pay the taxpayers for the gas being used.
Of course,we will have some saying they have to drive their take home cars to a part time job because they may get called out. How many chiefs aides or ICP officers have ever been called out? When they whine, they will sound just as silly as the detective in the attached article.
Kudos to the Alpharetta police chief. But when you have an elitist chief of police like Bolton, you can't expect reasonable independent thinking.

And the lamebrain ideas keep emitting from that numbskull between TeBo’s ears
Bolton is in search of 5, count ‘em, 5 sergeants to become F.T.O. Administrative Sergeants to Lt. Kaulbach who heads up the Field Training Program, one sergeant from each precinct. Good God, how does he come up with these ideas? Did he inhale too much smoke watching his personal Magic Bus burn to the ground? Is the man insane?
Why does he want one sergeant from each precinct? North Precinct hasn’t gotten any recruits from the last 2 academies. I bet he tosses that one to someone special.
These sergeants work hours will be 07:00 – 17:00 with either FSS or SSM off; of course you can throw all holidays off into that too. How bout a take home car?
This idea is the product of one of the now defunct wasteful trips our command staff took to Houston. It appears Houston Texas P.D. has a similar program. But has anyone told Bolton that Houston P.D. has over 5,000 police officers and their last academy graduated 71 officers with at least five more academies graduating over the next 6 months? That’s over 400 officers! Hell, we don’t have 400 uniform officers working the streets including all 5 precincts.
We are short handed on Sergeants as it is now. Most shifts work with only 2 sergeants per day, with a 3rd one thrown in about 3 days a week. These sergeants are worn out at the end of the shift daily, and now Bolton wants to take 5 away.
Bolton continues to demonstrate his distaste and jealously of the uniform patrolman working the streets. This is because Bolton was never a true uniform beat officer. He cared only for his political ambition, which he was a failure in Dallas. He will never live up to any of our patrol officers or sergeants.

Gwinnett police sergeants sue over pay discrepancies
All around the metro area, police officers file suit against their respective county or municipality when the officers are wronged. But it seems here in Dekalb, we just bend over and take it.
How many years has there been a pay discrepancy in DeKalb among all ranks?
Police Benevolent Association: Inactive
Fraternal Order of Police: Historically kisses the ass of whichever regime happens to be in power, along with dance hall rental.
International Brotherhood of Police Officers: Not really sure what they do, but they do don't compare to the union brothers with A.P.D.

What really is the purpose of the DeKalb Police Alliance? Part II
The DeKalb Police Alliance has registered with the Secretary of State for 2008. (March 5, 2008)
It appears Ms. Blackshear, Vernon's Deputy Chief of Staff is no longer affiliated with the alliance. Paula Zucker and Liane Levatan are listed as C.E.O.'s.
We are still searching for itemized expense records for 2007 and 2008. We believe over hundred thousand dollars in expenses for one year is quit a bit.

What really is the purpose of the DeKalb Police Alliance?
With the dreadful news of the economy lately, we were sitting around wondering about our family’s future, particularly if something should happen to us. Noting our chances of getting killed in the line of duty is increased because of our critical manpower shortage in uniform, this making our job more dangerous than necessary.
Anyway, we came across an organization in Chicago Illinois called the Hundred Club of Chicago (www.100clubchicago.org). In a nut shell, in Chicago, when an officer is killed in the line of duty, they present to the officer’s spouse a check in the amount of $50,000.00 within 24 hours of the death. They also provide an educational assistance program to all spouses and children. The educational program is for higher education which includes trade or vocational school, college, university and graduate school. Pretty straight forward.
So we Googled the DeKalb Police Alliance. First noted is their website, dekalbpolicealliance.org, is no longer active. Go figure. After more searching we were able to find some information under some obscured website called GuideStar.org.
For the year ending 2007, they list accomplishments of providing a 3-year $100,000 life insurance policy for all full time certified police officers in DeKalb County. Our questions are: Is this for in line of duty death only? If the $100,000 is paid over three years, then how long before the widow or widower is handed a check? Or is it given in monthly installments? How much red tape is involved?
Their objectives for 2008 were to make sure that the police officers are well-trained, and that their families are supported, and get this; raise funds to help purchase bicycles for DKPD to support their initiative of community-based policing. WTF? (and we don't mean off days of Wed, Thur, Fri)
But what really caught our eye was the total revenue for 2007 was $238,066 with total expenses of $206,623. Specific expenses are not broken down. It is an assumption the families of Stepnowski, Barker and Bryant were paid approximately $33.000.00 each. This would leave $107.623.00 in expenses for.......what?
Just wondering.

TASER Tragedy Fallout
NYPD:
* The man was naked, teetering on a building ledge and jabbing at police with an 8-foot-long fluorescent light bulb as a crowd gathered below.
Lt. Michael Pigott responded by ordering an officer to fire a stun gun at the man, who froze and plunged headfirst to his death in a scene captured on amateur video and replayed frequently on the Internet.
The officer was remorseful and distraught. He apologized and sought the family's forgiveness. Then he went to his unit's headquarters Thursday morning, his 46th birthday, and fatally shot himself just hours before the family laid the victim to rest.
A horrible outcome to what was pretty much a no-win situation. If the subject fell before police took action, cops would be blamed. If the police backed off and the subject hurt himself or others, cops would be blamed. If the cops put hands on the subject and anyone got hurt, cops would be blamed. Beanbags, TASERs, OC, any of the supposedly "less-that-lethal" options don't really work when a subject is 10 feet in the air waving broken glass around. And waiting him out isn't a realistic option when dealing with an emotionally disturbed person.
But pushing the Lieutenant over the edge by stripping him of police power and looking into criminal charges for what was essentially him looking out for his guys and possibly failing to appreciate the damage a fall could do is a failure of the disciplinary system. Obviously, the subject didn't deserve to die. But the Lieutenant didn't deserve to feel he had only one way out of a single questionable judgment call.

Below is a link detailing the transition team. DeKalb Sheriff Thomas Brown will head the public safety subcommittee, which will review the police and fire departments, the jail and the courts. Members of that committee are: Rev. Jerry Black, former Police Chief Bobby Burgess, Geraldine Champion, Tom Coleman, Jean Douglas, Steen Miles (who ran against Ellis in the Democratic Primary in July for CEO), Dr. Anthony Tricoli, former County Attorney Jon Weintraub and Rocio Woody.
We believe these people should have a complete understanding of Terrell Bolton, his wasteful spending and the command staff he has chosen to lead our department into ruin. We will make every effort to provide ways to contact the public safety committee members.
Please forward to the webmaster any known email addresses for the listed transition team members.
